new update

Some people are wondering what's happening with the trip. We are still at home, still waiting for the weather. We are still going though! We are anxiously aching to get out of here and hope to within the next 2 weeks...that's what we said 2 weeks ago :)

Please do regular checks on our blog. We appreciate the kind words, we DEFINATELY need them...

Believe me, we wish we weren't. It is just the not knowing exactly when we're going which is the frustrating part. But thank you for the patience and understanding, it is appreciated. Just waiting for the weather as usual, it is just non stop rain here in the lower mainland, and frankly it is getting on our nerves. Pray for clear skies and tail winds!

Last weekend dad did some night flying "circuits", practicing his landing and taking off. He did 4 touch and go's by himself and then he picked up our mom, me and Doris for 3 more touch and go's. It was really cool and a totally different experience flying at night. I don't think I've ever gone night flying before. The city looks beautiful at night with all the lights.

We missed our window...since we were waiting for a repair on the plane, which took longer, we missed the little stretch of good weather. Obviously we weren't meant to go when we wanted. We will blog as soon as we know FOR SURE we are going to take off, sorry for all the confusion. I won't even try to guess when we are going to take off, but check in reguarly...

p.s...we have to enter Brazil before mid-March before our visa's run out, so that's on our mind as well...

you haven't left yet???

This is the most popular question of the week. We haven't left yet! Sorry for psyching you guys out, we were getting ready to leave, and suddenly there was something wrong with the plane. It took until Monday to get it fixed, and now we are waiting for the weather....again. We hope to leave this week, but as usual, the weather isn't looking too great here as well as our first destination and beyond.

We have changed the route in the States...instead of flying down to Montana etc, we are going to fly to California, Nevada, Arizona, Louisiana and then Florida. It's warmer.

Believe us when we tell you, we are ready to go. Literally, we are packed and waiting for the call. Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts, it is appreciated.

So it looks like we are leaving a little sooner than expected...like tomorrow!!! We're having really good weather here, so we need to take advantage of it. We're just going to take it one leg at a time, it's not a race, and we're not trying to break any records. Think about us, for safety, health, patience and commen sense. Your prayers would be much appreciated! We have a lot of little last minute details to do today, but I think we'll be ready to go tomorrow. We'll be leaving first thing in the morning...
